The pool and steam sauna are fantastic. The breakfast buffet is very well presented. I am a retired executive chef and I've seldom seen a nicer kitchen anywhere, it's so modern, clean and spiffy. The whole hotel is just a beautiful old place. Staff was extra attentive. The view of the bay is perfect.

Nice hotel in a beautiful, quiet location. Staff were very friendly. The room was a good size and had a bath which was perfect after long days driving the surrounding area. Food was good, highly recommend the mac cheese with crab! Breakfast was fine too. Only downsides were the car park, its tiny, if there's an overflow car park, its not sign posted. The bed was also hard and i woke up in pain both mornings. Booking.com omitted to update me that the swimming pool was open again therefore didn't bring a swimming suit, I could have used the steam room after my long drives.

Location is good. It's a 5 to 10 min stroll to the town centre yet quiet. The check in was speedy. Friendly professional staff. The public areas of the hotel are outstandingly beautiful. The dining area is really very nice with views over the whole of Oban bay. The breakfast was good with lots of choice. Really well cooked. Our ground floor room was spacious and well presented although cold on arrival. Staff immediately brought an extra heater thus solving the problem.

The view from the window, although expensive, was amazing. Lovely evening meal options at a good price. The pool was nice, changing rooms a bit shabby. Staff were very friendly. The reception area was nice.

Room was classical and possibly a little tired, but in keeping with the property and fitting for the hotel location and style. A more modern design would probably not have been appropriate for the style, location and experience. Breakfast was generous and good. The location superb, with great views over the bay to the islands, but slightly away from the town centre so quieter whilst still being within easy walking distance to the town, boats, attractions and restaurants

Junior suite was excellent - lovely room with wonderful corner 'tower' where we could sit. spectacular views. food was very good and good value - we booked room with dinner and breakfast Lovely welcoming helpful staff. very nice swimming pool and steam room

We specifically picked the room with the 2 chairs in the bay window and were grateful it was exactly as pictured (often you pick a room which is suddenly unavailable upon check in). View- fabulous. Location- perfect! Breakfast was good (shouldn’t run out of coffee). Didn’t have dinner there but the bar selection and prices in that comfortable spot with that view was lovely. Definitely will return
